Seven students recently attended the Model United Nations conference in Budapest, Hungary.  Over a five-day period, students simulated the workings of the United Nations with thirty-eight different schools from around Europe and Southeast Asia.  During the simulation process, students are given a series of topics within the various UN committees and engage in debate and dialogue according to the position of the assigned country.  Lincoln students represented the countries of the Netherlands and Ghana.  On top of the conference experience, students also have an opportunity for various cultural experiences.  One of the most memorable includes the opening ceremony in the House of Parliament.  What better place than Budapest to soak up some European history and culture!   Overall, the conference was a great success for the Lincoln students.  Not only were they able to gain a greater understanding of the functioning of the United Nations, they also were able to make some great new friends while experiencing the many offerings of a beautiful European city.
