Google @ Lincoln!
One of the biggest names in technology, Google, arrived on Lincoln’s campus over the weekend to demonstrate new products, update teachers on the best use of Google in the classroom and offer challenges to inspire our use of technology in education. Eighteen Lincoln teachers attended a Google Level 1 Bootcamp on Friday. The Bootcamp was quick-paced and loaded with both teaching and tech skills. These teachers will sit an exam in the near future to become Google Certified Teachers.
Saturday and Sunday the entire Lincoln staff and visitors from schools around Kathmandu learned from international Google Certified Trainers. From Google Classroom to VR & AI, teachers learned new concepts, new technology, and new innovations to support our students’ learning through 21st Century Skills. Several staff members were selected to present their use of tech at Lincoln as well. Sudha Rajouria, David Young, Joanne Knox, Manohar Shrestha, Zaheer Khan, and Derek Harwell all shared their expertise in using Google educational products. While this may have been the first Google Summit held in Nepal, we don’t expect it to be the last.
