After finishing The Outsiders, our 8th-grade students dove deeper into character analysis through a creative group project. Each group selected a main character and created a silhouette filled with carefully chosen quotes, symbols, and images that revealed their character’s inner thoughts, motivations, and emotions. On the outside, they explored how others in the story perceive that character and offered thoughtful interpretations. The students showed strong collaboration and creativity, using both text evidence and imagination to bring these iconic characters to life.
