The grade five students recently started reading “Touching Spirit Bear” by Ben Mikaelsen. One of the story elements is the concept of Circle Justice, a strategy used by Aboriginal communities to solve problems. The students conducted their own Circle Justice, portrayed characters from the book, and discussed how they felt about conflicts from the story. Stepping into our character’s shoes helped to really bring the story to life!
