Building with Purpose: Grade 10’s Service Nepal Journey of Impact and Empowerment

The Grade 10 Service Nepal experience was guided by the essential question: How can we engage in service that fosters mutual respect, empowers communities, and promotes ethical, sustainable impact? Students put this into practice by building an earthbag house for a family in need. Each morning, they rolled up their sleeves to sew, fill, and stack earthbags, contributing to a sustainable and resilient home. Afternoons brought a change of pace with interactive workshops, including momo-making and sound healing. Whether working on-site, participating in activities, or simply spending time together, the experience offered valuable lessons in teamwork, resilience, and community.

This unforgettable experience was both uplifting and inspiring, leaving students excited to see the finished house become a home!
