Clean Water, Climbing, and Connection: Grade 6’s Service Nepal Experience
The sixth graders spent the first three days of Service Nepal in Chaimale, learning to build, use, and maintain water filters distributed by Hope Worldwide. Over 300 new filters were dedicated to students from Shree Krishna School in grades 5–9, and our students helped demonstrate their proper use and maintenance. Reflecting on their experience in Chaimale, they expressed gratitude for their privileges, including clean water and education, improvised S’Mores by the campfire, and being able to help. The final two days were spent in Hatiban with the Borderlands crew, engaging in rock climbing and team-building activities. Students demonstrated teamwork, communication, and persistence while tackling challenges on the rock and beyond and enjoyed celebrating a 25-year partnership with a delicious cake.
