Lincoln Swimmers Return from World Championships!
This past summer has been a hot one and while you were probably lounging pool side, our Lincoln swimmers were swimming at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary! Sofia Shah, a Lincoln alumnus who attended Lincoln for 15 years and trained with the Lincoln swim team, attended her third long course world championship meet and swam the 100m freestyle (1:04.83) and came first in her heat in the 50m freestyle (29.73). Tisa Shakya, a current Lincoln student in grade 9 attending her first world championships ever, broke the Nepalese national record in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:26.13! She also swam the 200m freestyle with a new personal best time of 2:29.20. Many Lincoln swimmers have been training hard all summer to start preparations for the upcoming Junior World Championships as well as SAISA Swimming.
