Eureka! Our Foil Boat Challenge!

Will It Float?

Today the Grade Fives tackled to the idea of buoyancy by constructing a boat using only tin foil. We planned and tested out our designs by adding washers until the boat sank. The objective of today’s activity was for the students to discover the value of revisiting our scientific models and making adjustments to achieve different results. So, after our first attempts, it was back to the drawing board to think of some improvements for our second attempts.
